UK Coalition working groups

Role of the Working Groups

The Coalition working groups will carry out the broad work programme of the Coalition as agreed by the UK Coalition. It is proposed that there should be separate country working groups for the Coalition to be set up in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Individual working groups will devise campaign and lobbying strategies relevant to the policy making structures in each country.

It is proposed that the country working groups should be semi-autonomous and will have responsibility for developing a strategy that is appropriate to national and local government structures in each country.
Representation

The four sub-groups will be made up of agencies representing the interests of national and local agencies working with older homeless people.

Members of the working group will be expected to sign up to the joint statement and the policy principles of the Coalition.
Sub-groups

The country working groups will be able to set up sub-groups to tackle specific areas of work. These sub-groups will report back to their working group which in turn will report back to the UK Coalition.
Meetings

Country working groups will meet at least three times a year.
Reporting

Procedure Each country working group will submit an annual report to the full UK Coalition.
